How to Use the Toolkit
Your group has unique knowledge and believes passionately in its cause: the environment, safe streets, better family and social programs, good local jobs, a financially sustainable approach to development…
What if the City’s new Official Plan, now in development, considered and included your perspective? We know our community has amazing ideas and talents. So we created the Reimagine Peterborough Toolkit.
The Toolkit uses 8 simple questions to help your group outline your key positions, concerns, and ideas. We designed the Toolkit to make it easier for staff and councillors at City Hall to see your input — and use it to build city policy, priorities, and budget commitments.
Here’s how it works:
1Download the Toolkit here.
2Review the 8 guiding questions and decide what questions you already have answers to.
3For any unanswered questions, consider how to involve your group in answering them. Reimagine Peterborough volunteers can support you to determine the best approach.
4Finalize your answers to the 8 questions.
5Submit the completed toolkit to the City and Reimagine Peterborough this spring.
6Monitor the Official Planning process and make sure your input is heard and reflected in the City’s new Official Plan.
The current Official Plan Review is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape a community vision for the future. The plan is the central document that guides our growth and development, with detailed policies for the next 20 years.
What kind of city do you want Peterborough to be in 20 years? Use the Reimagine Peterborough Toolkit to engage in the City’s Official Plan process and have your voice heard!
